From a Florentine Villa to a Scottish Castle: Venue Illustrations for Real Weddings
Every wedding venue has a feeling — a quality of light, a particular roofline, a courtyard that seems to hold its breath just before the ceremony begins. For some of our couples, capturing that feeling on paper felt just as important as the flowers or the dress. These are the venues that shaped our stationery — and the different ways we brought them to life.
🇬🇧Hereford Cathedral, England

Standing at the heart of Hereford since 1079, Hereford Cathedral is one of England's great Norman and Gothic churches — a Grade I listed building and home to the famous Mappa Mundi, a medieval map of the world created around 1300. Its soaring tower, carved stone facades, and centuries of history make it one of the most striking settings imaginable for a wedding ceremony.
For Charlotte and Edward's wedding at the cathedral, we created a custom stencil illustration of the building — its Gothic towers and ornate west front rendered as a fine line drawing, then hot foil-stamped in gold onto a cream cardboard insert. Set within a burgundy velvet Regina folio with a gold floral monogram on the cover, the result is an invitation that carries the grandeur of the venue in every detail — the cathedral silhouette glowing in gold against the cream card, the deep burgundy velvet framing it like a theatre curtain before the show begins.

🇬🇧Hampton Manor, Warwickshire, England

Nestled in the heart of Warwickshire in Hampton in Arden, Hampton Manor is a five-star Victorian country house hotel set within 45 acres of grounds — its sandstone facade, Gothic detailing, and immaculate gardens making it one of the most quietly spectacular wedding venues in the English Midlands.
For Jodie and James's wedding at the manor, we created a custom stencil illustration of the house — its distinctive tower, mullioned windows, and stone steps captured as a fine line drawing, then hot foil-stamped in gold onto a cream cardboard insert. The suite was presented in a white velvet box with a gold baroque monogram on the lid and a white satin ribbon — an invitation that matched the manor's understated, classic grandeur exactly.

🇬🇧Botleys Mansion, Surrey, England

Tucked away in the Surrey countryside near Chertsey, Botleys Mansion is an 18th-century Georgian estate available exclusively for private weddings — its Palladian facade, sweeping double staircase, grand interiors, and landscaped parkland offering a setting that is quietly, confidently magnificent.
For Diane and Gary's evening wedding reception at the mansion, we designed a foil-pressed venue invitation on 600gsm luxe cotton card stock — a custom stencil illustration of the Georgian facade gold foil-pressed above the wedding wording. Paired with a velvet envelope and finished with a gold wax seal, the card alone carried the full weight of the occasion — proof that a single beautifully crafted sheet, when made with enough intention, needs nothing else around it.

🏴Tyn Dwr Hall, Wales

Set in the rolling hills of the Dee Valley near Llangollen, Tyn Dwr Hall is a Victorian red-brick manor house of extraordinary character — its Tudor-Gothic timber framing, multiple chimneys, and walled gardens combining into a venue that feels both grand and deeply personal.
For Amy and Rhys's wedding at the hall, we created a custom stencil illustration of the building in full — the manor, its roofline, and the surrounding trees rendered as an intricate gold line drawing, then hot foil-stamped directly onto a clear acrylic invitation card. The card was wrapped in a sage green velvet belly band and sealed with a gold wax seal — a suite that captured the layered, overgrown character of the venue and carried it, in gold, to every guest.

🏴Chateau Rhianfa, Anglesey, Wales

On the shores of the Menai Strait between Menai Bridge and Beaumaris, Chateau Rhianfa is a Grade II*-listed French Gothic mansion built in 1849 for Sir John Hay-Williams and his wife, Lady Sarah. The couple had travelled extensively through the Loire Valley, and Lady Sarah's fondness for the architectural style of King Francis I led the house to be modelled on the great châteaux of Blois, Chambord, Amboise, Chenonceau, and Chaumont — turrets, dormers, and all, transplanted onto the Welsh coastline. Today it operates as a five-star hotel, its Grade II*-listed gardens cascading down to the water's edge.
For a couple drawn to the chateau's fairy-tale silhouette, we created a custom stencil illustration of the building — its turrets, dormer windows, and steep slate roofline rendered as a fine gold line drawing, then hot foil-stamped directly onto a clear acrylic invitation card. Wrapped in a designer envelope and finished with twin gold wax seals, the suite let the chateau's silhouette glow above the wording — a French fantasy on a Welsh shoreline, carried home in gold foil.

🏴Dundas Castle, Scotland

On the outskirts of Edinburgh, overlooking the Firth of Forth, Dundas Castle has stood since the 15th century — a Category A listed tower house with Tudor-Gothic additions, surrounded by parkland and available exclusively for weddings and private events. It is one of Scotland's most coveted wedding venues, and one of those rare places where the architecture speaks for itself.
For Elizabeth and Adam's wedding at the castle, we created a custom stencil illustration of Dundas — its towers, battlements, and Gothic roofline captured as a panoramic line drawing spanning the full width of the card, then hot foil-stamped in gold onto a clear acrylic insert. Presented in a navy blue velvet box, the acrylic card floated above the deep velvet interior — the castle rendered in gold, the whole suite as formal and considered as a black-tie dress code demands.

🇬🇧Corinthia Hotel London, England

Situated between Trafalgar Square and the Thames Embankment, the Corinthia Hotel London occupies one of the city's most storied buildings — originally opened in 1885 as the Metropole Hotel, commandeered in both world wars, and restored in 2011 as one of London's most celebrated five-star hotels. Its Victorian Baroque façade, grand interiors, and position at the heart of Westminster make it a wedding venue of singular gravitas.
For a couple celebrating their wedding at the Corinthia, we created a custom stencil illustration of the hotel's ornate corner façade — the curved roofline, arched windows, and Victorian detailing rendered as a sweeping gold line drawing, then hot foil-stamped onto a vellum jacket layered over the invitation card. Finished with a gold foil monogram and sealed with a gold wax seal — the hotel silhouette visible through the vellum, hovering between the jacket and the card beneath.

🇮🇹Villa Cora, Florence, Italy

Set in a centuries-old park overlooking the Boboli Gardens on the hills just above Florence, Villa Cora is one of Tuscany's most breathtaking wedding venues — a restored 19th-century grand hotel whose terraced gardens, frescoed interiors, and views over the city make it a destination in its own right.
For Csilla and Alexandru's wedding at the villa, we created a custom stencil illustration of the façade — the neoclassical frontage and its arched windows captured as a fine gold line drawing, hot foil-stamped onto a cream cardboard insert above the wedding wording. The suite was presented in a forest green velvet box with a gold floral monogram on the lid and a personalised satin ribbon — a combination that felt every bit as considered as the venue itself.

🇸🇰Pálffy Manor, Slovakia

Tucked among the vineyards of the Little Carpathians near Bratislava, Pálffy Manor in Svätý Jur is a baroque estate with over 700 years of history — and one of Slovakia's most sought-after wedding venues.
For Polina and Dominik's wedding at the manor, we designed a full stationery suite built around a hand-painted watercolour illustration of the estate — the cobblestone courtyard framed by a rose arch, rendered in soft greens and warm golds. The illustration lined the inside of a champagne envelope, revealed the moment guests opened their invitation. The suite was finished in moss velvet with a gold foil-printed acrylic card, a gilded heraldic monogram, and a gold wax seal — presented in a matching luxury gift box.

🇪🇸Castillo de las Arguijuelas de Abajo, Spain

Rising from the plains of Extremadura just outside Cáceres, the Castillo de las Arguijuelas de Abajo is a 15th-century fortress built by the Obando family — its round towers, battlements, and walled enclosure standing largely unchanged since the Renaissance. Set along the ancient Ruta de la Plata, it is one of Spain's most dramatic private venues, and a castle in every sense of the word.
For a couple who chose this extraordinary setting for their wedding, we created a custom stencil illustration of the castle — its towers and crenellated walls rendered as a detailed line drawing, then hot foil-stamped in gold directly onto a clear acrylic insert alongside the wedding wording, set within a navy blue velvet Isabelle folio. The result was an invitation as commanding as the venue: the castle silhouette pressed in gold, visible through the acrylic the moment the folio was opened.

🇫🇷Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, France

Perched at the tip of the Cap-Ferrat peninsula on the French Riviera, the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat is one of the world's great luxury hotels — a Five-Star Palace property open since 1908, now part of the Four Seasons collection and holder of the Michelin Guide's 3 Key distinction. With its white Belle Époque façade overlooking the sea, umbrella pines, and manicured gardens descending to the waterfront, it is a venue where every detail feels considered from the first moment to the last.
For Katy and Jason's wedding at the hotel, we created a custom stencil illustration of the Grand-Hôtel's distinctive seafront façade — the building, its terrace, and the surrounding pines rendered as a panoramic gold line drawing, then hot foil-stamped onto a clear acrylic insert above the wedding wording. The suite was presented in a black velvet box with a gold baroque monogram on the cover and a personalised gold spine — an invitation as composed and uncompromising as the venue it was made for.

🇫🇷Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris

On Avenue George V in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, the Four Seasons Hotel George V has occupied its Art Deco building since 1928 — named for King George V, financed at a cost of 60 million Francs, and long established as one of the most celebrated addresses in France. Its three Michelin-starred restaurant, legendary flower arrangements, and position steps from the Champs-Élysées make it a destination in its own right, and one of the most sought-after wedding venues in Europe.
For Alexandra and Javier's wedding at the George V, we created a custom stencil illustration of the hotel's distinctive Art Deco façade — its arched entrance, stone detailing, and "GEORGE V" lettering rendered as a fine gold line drawing, then hot foil-stamped onto a vellum overlay laid over the invitation card. Paired with a gold baroque monogram, a navy blue velvet envelope, and a gold wax seal, the suite carried the composed grandeur of the avenue itself — Paris distilled into a single sheet of gold on vellum.

If your venue isn't listed here — that's exactly the point. Every illustration we create is made from scratch, for one couple, for one place. Whether it's a castle in Spain, a cathedral in England, or a hotel in Paris, we work from reference images and drawings to produce a stencil illustration or hand-painted watercolour that becomes part of your stationery suite — pressed in gold, printed on vellum, or painted by hand. If you'd like to discuss a venue illustration for your own wedding, get in touch — we'd love to hear about it.
